The Nougat Festival is traditionally held on December 8 on the feast of the Immaculate Conception.
On this occasion, celebrations at St. Francis Church take on a special solemnity.
For the entire day, the historic center is filled with stalls featuring Nougat, a typical sweet of this festival.
Nougat is in fact a very old sweet spread throughout the country, and in Faenza it has become a typical specialty of the period.
Piazza della Libertà, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza San Francesco and the Church of the same name are the main centers where the best nougat elaborations can be tasted.
Lovers of this specialty will be spoiled for choice; traditional nougat, soft chocolate nougat, hazelnut nougat, almond nougat, sour cherry nougat, tiramisu nougat, nougat with candied lemons, nougat with candied orange, and many other specialties.
A space also for the rest of the typical gastronomy of Belpaese and Romagna: from sweet to savory, from cheeses to cured meats.
There will be no shortage of creative and craft booths with items of all kinds.
From clothing to toys, household items, gifts and decorations for the upcoming Christmas.
The festival thus becomes an opportunity to celebrate culture and tradition in a colorful and festive atmosphere.
